      The short version: Mach Mach is built to be anonymous. We never collect your real name or photo. We use your location only to show you nearby posts. We do not sell your data to anyone, ever.
    

1. Who We Are

Mach Mach ("we", "our", "the app") is an anonymous hyperlocal social app developed by Devarshi Shah, based in Mumbai, India. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use Mach Mach on iOS or Android.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum information necessary to run the app:

Apple Account ID or Google Account ID — used solely to authenticate you. We never see or store your real name or profile photo.
Email address — collected via Google or Apple Sign In for account management only. Never displayed to other users.
Location data — your approximate GPS coordinates are used in real time to show you posts within 1km of your current position. We store only a geohash (a privacy-safe encoded version of your location) alongside your posts — never your exact coordinates permanently.
Posts and votes — the content you post and votes you cast are stored in our database linked to your anonymous user ID, not your real identity.
Aura score — your in-app reputation score, stored anonymously and never linked to your real identity.
Daily post count — a counter to enforce the 5 posts per day limit. This resets every 24 hours.

3. Information We Do NOT Collect

Your real name
Your profile photo
Your phone number
Your permanent or historical location
Any payment or financial information
Device contacts, camera, or microphone data
Any biometric data

4. How We Use Your Information

To show you anonymous posts from people within 1km of your current location
To allow you to post content anonymously
To calculate and display your Aura reputation score
To enforce daily post limits (5 posts per day) and prevent abuse
To automatically hide content that has been reported 5 or more times by other users
To maintain app security and prevent fraudulent activity

5. Content Moderation

Every post on Mach Mach has a 🚩 report button visible to all users. Posts that receive 5 or more reports are automatically hidden from all feeds immediately. We review severely reported content and reserve the right to permanently delete posts and ban accounts that violate our Terms of Use.

We do not use automated content scanning at this time. Moderation is community-driven through the reporting system.

6. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore), hosted in the asia-south1 (Mumbai) region. We use industry-standard security practices to protect your data. All posts automatically expire and are permanently deleted after 24 hours. User accounts and Aura scores are retained until you choose to delete your account.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal data with any third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. We use the following third-party services solely to operate the app:

Google Firebase — secure database and user authentication
Apple Sign In — authentication only, no profile data is accessed
Google Sign In — authentication only, no profile data is accessed beyond email address

8. Your Rights and Controls

You have full control over your data:

Delete your account — available anytime from within the app (My Aura tab → Delete Account). This permanently and irreversibly removes your profile, Aura score, post history, and all associated data.
Revoke location access — you can turn off location permissions in your phone settings at any time. Note that the app requires location to function.
Data requests — you may contact us to request a copy of your data or to ask questions about what we store.

9. Children's Privacy

Mach Mach is strictly not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect any data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us immediately at the email below and we will delete the account and all associated data promptly.

10. Child Safety Standards

Mach Mach has zero tolerance for any content that exploits, endangers, or sexualises minors in any way. This includes but is not limited to child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and any content that facilitates the grooming, exploitation, or harm of minors.

Reporting in-app: Every post on Mach Mach can be reported directly using the 🚩 report button. Users are encouraged to immediately report any content that appears to involve or endanger minors.
Review commitment: We review all reports within 24 hours. Any content found to involve child exploitation is removed immediately and the account is permanently banned.
Authority cooperation: We comply fully with all relevant child safety laws applicable in India and internationally. We report child sexual abuse material and related content to the appropriate regional and national authorities including but not limited to the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) and relevant law enforcement agencies.
Contact for child safety concerns: To report any child safety concern directly to us, please email simutomy14@gmail.com with the subject line "Child Safety Report". We treat all such reports with the highest priority.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the app evolves. We will notify users of significant changes through an in-app notice. Your continued use of Mach Mach after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision.

      The short version: Be respectful. Do not post harmful, illegal, or abusive content. Mach Mach is anonymous — do not abuse that freedom to hurt others. Violations will result in account suspension or permanent ban.
    

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Mach Mach ("the app"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use the app.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use Mach Mach. By using the app, you confirm that you are 18 or older. If we discover that a user is under 18, we will immediately terminate their account and delete all associated data.

3. Anonymous Use Policy

Mach Mach is designed for anonymous posting. While your real identity is not visible to other users, your anonymous account is linked to your authentication provider (Apple or Google). This means we retain the ability to take action against accounts that violate these Terms — including account suspension and permanent bans — even under the veil of anonymity. Anonymity is a feature, not a shield for harmful behaviour.

4. Prohibited Content

You may not post, share, or promote content on Mach Mach that:

Is hateful, discriminatory, or targets individuals or groups based on religion, caste, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, nationality, or disability
Threatens, harasses, intimidates, or bullies any individual or group
Contains sexually explicit, pornographic, or NSFW (Not Safe For Work) material of any kind
Shares personal or private information about another person without their explicit consent (doxxing)
Promotes, glorifies, or facilitates illegal activity under Indian law or international law
Contains deliberate misinformation or false information that could cause public harm, incite panic, or endanger lives
Is spam, repetitive, or unsolicited commercial advertising
Impersonates any real person, organisation, government body, or other entity
Exploits, endangers, sexualises, or harms minors in any way
Constitutes or facilitates child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind
Incites violence, terrorism, or civil unrest
Violates any applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation

5. Content Reporting and Moderation

Every post on Mach Mach displays a 🚩 report button. Any user can report a post for the following reasons: Spam, Hate Speech, or Misinformation.

Auto-hide: Posts that receive 5 or more reports are automatically hidden from all feeds immediately, without manual review.
Manual review: We reserve the right to review reported content and permanently delete posts that violate these Terms.
Account action: Users who repeatedly violate these Terms may face temporary suspension or permanent ban of their account.
Severe violations: Content involving threats of violence, child exploitation, or criminal activity will be reported to the appropriate Indian or international authorities.

6. Your Content

You retain full ownership of the content you post on Mach Mach. By posting, you grant Mach Mach a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display, and distribute that content solely within the app to other nearby users. This licence terminates automatically when your post expires (after 24 hours) or when you delete your account.

You are solely responsible for the content you post. Mach Mach is not liable for user-generated content.

7. Intellectual Property

The Mach Mach name, logo, design, and all original app content are the intellectual property of Devarshi Shah. You may not reproduce, copy, or use any Mach Mach branding or design without explicit written permission.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

Mach Mach is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from harmful components. We are not responsible for the accuracy, legality, or appropriateness of content posted by other users.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Mach Mach and its developer Devarshi Shah shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or damages resulting from your use of the app or from content posted by other users.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Mach Mach and Devarshi Shah from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the app, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms of Use are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and applicable rules thereunder. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Mach Mach shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. We will notify users of material changes through an in-app notice. Your continued use of Mach Mach after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision.

13. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate your access to Mach Mach at any time, without notice, for conduct that we determine violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties. Upon termination, your right to use the app ceases immediately.
